Routes into nursing
You don’t have to have a university degree to become part of our nursing family. Nor does a career in nursing have to start straight from school. Many of our nurses started on our apprentice scheme, while others returned to practice later in life.
Our Northumbria Way offers six routes into nursing or a career in care:

● Care certificate
● Trainee Nursing Associates
● Student nursing
● Return to practice
● Preceptorship Programme
Whichever route you take, we offer a unique development structure, giving you opportunities to develop clinical skills, leadership, and personal development.
